I work within the Aerospace Industry at BAE Systems. Currently I am in the aerodynamics field, however have a background in Civil and Structural and Mechanical engineering.
I currently live in Lancashire with my daughter and our pet dog, Teddy.
In my spare time I like to run, read, and am an amateur photographer.
How I Use Maths In My Job:
Im my daily work I produce and analyse a lot of graphs and data.
I help to make sure planes are safe.
When at work, I create a lot of simulations and analyse the results. I also attend lots of meetings.
What or who inspired you to follow your career?
I love space, so find fast jets really. I love hearing about new technology.
What did you think about Maths when you were in school?
I found maths quite easy, but didn't see why all of the 'complicated maths was relevant. Now I use it all the time and am really glad I paid attention!
What did you want to be after you left school?
I wanted to be a pilot in the RAF, but was too small!
Were you ever in trouble at school?
Not really, I liked school.
If you weren't doing this job, what would you choose instead?
I would still do engineering, but in the Civil world instead (so helping to design buildings and structures).
What's your favourite food?
Chocolate (if that counts as a food?)
