Chartered Engineer Responsible for the mechanical design and development of electronic enclosures for mining machinery control and monitoring systems. These products are designed using sheet metal fabrication for a harsh and hazardous environment. I own the design from concept through development of prototype build, product proving, and pre-production runs to serial production at a third-party manufacturing site. Other responsibilities include connector design, cable system design for Powered roof supports, certification approvals for MSHA and ATEX. Interests: Design Engineering, Problem Solving , 3D CAD, Design for Manufacture
My Typical Day

Start at 7am and use a computer most of the day

read emails answer any questions related to new projects, manufacturing problems, quality problems.

Work on new design projects – hand drawn sketches to 3D design on my computer

Calulations using excel spreadsheets and checking geometry and measurments.
