Dr Hannah Fry presents the Royal Institution’s 2019 CHRISTMAS LECTURES – Secrets and lies: The hidden power of maths.
On this site, a group of experts are online to answer your questions about the Lectures and their mathematical themes.
Students get to connect with experts using maths at the heart of their work in a range of careers, including engineering, science and technology.
The CHRISTMAS LECTURES Zone is open from the broadcast of the first Lecture on Boxing Day (BBC4, 8pm) to the end of January 2020.
I’m a Mathematician is an exciting opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of maths, and explore how it is applied in the world around them.
This zone covers the topics brought up in the Lectures: probability, algorithms, big data and statistics, and how maths governs our world today.
Take part as a mathematician or Lecture contributor.
