The area of Maths and machine learning known as physiological (dynamical) system modelling, tries to express a physiological process (such as working of the adrenal glands) in the form of mathematical models. An integration of all the models explaining each physiological process can be referred to as a mathematical model of the human physiology. With respect to the thought processes, there are projects which do mind mapping and trying to find the key to learning and forgetting and how that happens ( https://www.ucsf.edu/news/2019/09/415501/key-learning-and-forgetting-identified-sleeping-brain )
Also, Fourier transform (maths) is being used by our ‘state of existence’ when our eyes ‘see’ something and our brains interpret it. Similarly with hearing sounds.
Conversely, there are many bio-inspired algorithms which perform a prediction or regression or identification task but are designed inspired from a part of the human body or mind.
