Ooooo if I come across that kind of money I’d happily immediately retire mate.
First the selfish bits. I’d travel and engage in activities I have so long wanted but couldn’t do due to money and/or time. To name a few, I’d do the Trans-Siberian railway trip, visit Alaska, the Incas civilization remains, visit Japan and learn ninjutsu, visit China and learn a few basic Kung-fu moves from the Shaolin temples teaching Kungfu, make a trip to the Serengeti, then to Petra, Jordan, take my parents on a cruise and show them Norway.
Then I’d buy a small plot of land in the foothills of the Himalayas, have a small cottage to myself, with hopefully the view of Mt. Kanchenjunga or the tea gardens, and have a small vegetable garden surrounding my cottage. After having travelled the world I would live a simple life off-grid, no social media or networking. (dreaming away)
With a fraction of the leftover money I would make a school for the local children from poor families. I’d put enough money in a trust fund for that school, hire members for a school trust to take care of the administration and smooth running of the school. I would however still interview the teachers for the school.
The remaining money I’d donate to research in healthcare.

I’d give most of it away – I can’t even imagine what I’d do with that much money. I can just about fantasize about 1 million (buy a house!), but a billion is so huge it is basically immoral.

For example, if you earned £5,000 every day, it would take you less than 7 months to earn a million pounds.

If you tried to earn a billion dollars that way, it would take nearly 550 years.
