— my grandpa was electrical engineer, and for that you need a lot of maths! 🙂
— my husband is a computer scientist (also highly related)
— so far, the favourite subject of both of my kids is maths!
Not directly, not purely. My dad is a doctor and my mom a Biology teacher.
My dad’s sister is a mathematician. Her son (my cousin) used to be an electrical engineer and then became a Computer scientist ( so yeah, Maths-y). My dad’s brother used to be a mechanical engineer (and he and my aunt used to help me with Maths during school). His son is a Computer engineer.
So that’s all 🙂
Nope, my family were quite into science though as both my parents were doctors, my brothers are both engineers and one of my sisters is a biology teacher!
None of my family are really interested in science and maths at all. However this year I got them to watch the Christmas Lectures and to my surprise they did including my 90yr old+ grandparents who have never had any interest in STEM (I think mostly to try and spot me on the television) and they actually enjoyed them and even my mum who professes a hatred of maths said she learnt something, so I consider that a success!
